Sounds like a reaction to something, most likely the adhesive so ask to have it looked it.

Could be just a reaction to the incision site itself. Very common to be itching. It's been almost 7 months since I had mine implanted and I still get a little bit every now and then depending on the material my shirts are made of. Especially if you are a male and your hair on your chest is growing back even adds to the fun. Not too much you can do about it except rub the area lightly don't itch or scratch to abrasively. But itching is fairly common within the first few months.
How swollen?

I had my pacer put in April 27, and also had a lot of itching around the dressing, everywhere the monitor wire patches were placed, and even where they painted the disinfectant. But if is puffy and hot to the touch, get checked for an infection at the site. The swelling seemed to go down a lot this week and itching stopped after taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) regularly for a week after the procedure. I do have other allergies - now adding adhesive and Hibiclens to the list.

I'm 43 and have had my pacemaker four weeks today. I'm looking forward to living another 50 years and this marvelous device inside me will help me do that.
reaction to bandage/ahesive?

When I got mine they put a large dressing over it and I had a mild allergic reaction (lot of itching and redness) until it was removed after 10 days.
If in doubt, check with your Dr to make sure that it is not an infection and if it is OK to take some Benadryl.
