Hi i had a Pacemaker implant on Tuesday 26/04/2016 and not long after surgery i started to get what i would call abdominal palpitations. I explained this to my surgeon on his ward visit and he explained this was a common problem and could be fixed by re-programming my Pacemaker. On the day of my discharge these twitches were fixed by using WIFI. Now i am at home the twitches have returned but only when i lay on my Right hand side every other position and i am fine do you think this will settle please or do i need to go back to Papworth Hospital for a quick fix.

Hi Had my Pm implanted in Nov 2015. Next day after leaving the hospital Had the worst twitches !! Felt like I was pregnant again ( not possible :) ) and the baby was kicking !!! OUCH ! Called the EP/ they reset my voltage to a much lower number, ( from 4 to 1.5 ), Very rarely have these pluses now. The best person for the job is the tech who will be monitoring you.....Cardiologist , too, but tech is important.
Good luck.

Mine lasted a couple of months. EP told me it was normal, but if it continued he would do an X-ray to check lead placement.
You know you're wired when...
You can feel your fingers and toes again.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
call the hospital

Hi, I would say the best thing is to call the department - did they give you any numbers incase of problems? Better to call them first than trek back - but speak to someone medical like a specialist nurse or cardiac technician or a Dr. Don't let an admin person fob you off with 'go to the gp'.
