Had my first pacemaker fitted nearly three weeks ago. Apart from some remaining bruising and irritation around wound and pain in upper left arm all seems O.K. My check up is not for another four weeks. My pulse rate is pretty constant at 60. Is there any way I can check that the two leads are working well and are on there way to being embedded?

If your rate is normal, than your leads are pacing which means they are fine. Leads moving out of place is uncommon.

I'm 44, active and have had my device for two years. I love it as I can run again and enjoy working out without feeling like I'm an old man.
will find out @ checkup

When they check your PM they will be able to confirm the lead placement/embedded status. They will use their machine to ramp up/down the rate on each lead and check the resistance of each one as well. This will confirm everything and if the lead moved but is embedded they can adjust the PM accordingly though the machine.
Short of that, if your HR is normal and your feeling fine then I would assume that all is still well.
7 weeks until a checkup seems a bit long - I had my first @ about 10 days and a second at 6 weeks.
