I am a 43 year old female with pm for third degree av block. I have had my pm for 5 weeks. I am currently a bit worried. I am currently on my monthly menstral cycle, and, I am wondering if that is part of the reason that I feel so tired and have a lack of energy? The doc says the pm is doing what it is supposed to, but this feeling of light headed and out ofnbreath is something new for me. Any ideas or feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanx

settings

The monitor will pick up things like afib and other irregularities. It likely won't pick up nuances that can need adjusted in the settings. In that case,it's working as programmed. It's the programming that needs tweaked.
not related

It's not related to your cycle unless you usually get that tired during it. All the pacer does is complete the broken circuit when your ventricles don't keep up with the atria. Are you more active now than you were a week ago? You're getting to the point where you're probably feeling better and getting back to your old schedule, resuming life. That can be tiring at first, it takes the body a while to bounce back.

If you're just getting more active again, it's also possible the settings need tweaked to support the activity. They start us with a good guess, but it usually takes some fine tuning. If you are getting easily winded or having trouble exerting, call and ask to be seen.
Iron

What about a blood test to check iron levels? It may be something as simple as low iron? All symptoms you have mentioned can result from low iron levels. Just a thought!!

Thank you

Thank you for the insight. I have been a little more active lately. I also just got my home monitoring system in, and, if I understand how it works, if my doc sees something that isn't right, he will get in touch with me. But, I am planning to call his office first thing tomorrow morning.
