Four weeks ago I was diagnosed with Bradycardia, and am now the proud owner of a Medtronic two wire Pacemaker.
All seems to be working ok, except I have had a metallic taste in my mouth ever since my PM was inplanted. I don't know if this is a coincidence or a result of my PM.
If anyone else has had a similar experience I would love to know.
Many thanks.

Meds can cause this

Is it the case that your medications have changed? When I was put on fairly large doses of Potassium, to balance the Potassium-leaching effect of the diuretic I was put on, I thought someone was trying to poison me! This continued until I was weaned off the diuretic and could stop taking the Potassium. On the positive side, the horrible taste in my mouth let my to lose weight and quit smoking, so I have that going for me. :-)
You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.

Hi Coxy,
Probably not much help, but I got a PM for Sick Sinus Syndrome....very slow heart rate and stopping for 8-10 seconds. For ytears I though I was just having fainting episodes. Always had a nadty metallic taste when these occurred. Since pacemaker, no more. Wonder why the taste ....very slow pulse rate?
