Does anyone else feel this way?

I had my cardiac loop monitor implanted almost 2 months ago. ... needless to say I am not impressed with it at all! I feel as if the pharmaceutical company pushed this device. Not only is it still sore to the touch or anything at all but it is nothing like what they told me before hand. I can't hardly wear a bra the scar is so unattractive and you can see the shape of the device under my skin and I am by no means small chested or anything else. My question is had anyone has had it removed? Or experienced any of this also my left arm is always swollen is this normal? Any comments would be appreciated!

I know how you feel. I don't have a cardiac loop monitor either, but I don have a pacemaker. I have had it since December of last year. There have been several times, while I was trying to adjust to having this thing, that I wanted to have it removed. I can still feel it and even see a bulge under my skin. It's kind of creepy. While I was having to get used to the pacemaker and heal, I was not able to fasten my bra,. So, I bought a couple of bandeau bras. They helped a lot. Trying to maintain some sort of normalcy, when getting use to having a pacemaker helps even more.

I agree with Shaun about getting your arm checked out.

I don't have a cardiac loop monitor, but I have a pacemaker and a scar, and I can also see the outline of the device pushing out against my skin.

How long do the doctors intend to monitor your heart activity? Given that you now already have the scar, it would be a real shame to remove the device early before the doctors have had the chance to make their diagnosis one way or another.

I don't know why you have the monitor, but to me the scar and device outline seem a small price to pay if they help to avoid heart failure. You need to get the swollen arm checked though.

Thank y'all for the comments. ..I had to have this put in for a couple reasons. .. first I am 36 and I have already had 2 heart attacks at some point in my life now I been having allot of different episodes first my lips go numb then I feel like I am gonna pass out second I have these episodes like my heart has stopped and when it finally does kick back in it will jerk me out of a complete sleep or out of a chair or car seat I am almost afraid to drive anymore it happened 4 times all at once while sitting in the passenger seat it was almost like having a seizure I was a nurse before my heart got so bad so I have seen allot and to actually feel it happen to myself is scary as all get out. .. but I feel as if this was huge push by a pharmaceutical company cause they was a rep from the company in the operating room with the Dr and nurses and within 12 hrs of having this procedure done I was back in the hospital with full blown pneumonia in both lungs I am 2 months out from having ít implanted and tomorrow will be my first visit to the heart Dr to set everything up ..... now remind you this was suppose to be done within a week but since I was so sick with pneumonia I haven't been able to see him .... this all started with pneumonia. .. multiple boughs of pneumonia within less than a yr had totally reeked control over my body everyone looks at me and sees a young woman I don't look my age I still look like I am in my 20's but when you tell anyone what is wrong they just set back in awww cause I look so healthy. ... Sry for writing a book here but I wanted yuns to know where I am coming from and if anyone else has the same kinda symptoms or had already went thru this I just wanna know how everyone else had managed this. ...Thank you all and God bless!

I am only 38. I was born with a congenital heart block. That's why I had to have a pacemaker. It sounds like your device needs to be adjusted. I had to have my pacemaker adjusted. My Cardiologist set my heart rate to 140 beats a minute. I can tell you, that was the craziest feeling. My pre-pacemaker heart rate was 44 beats a minute. I know my response is over a month due, but I hope you have found some solution to your issue.
