arm pain

A few months after implant, my left arm started hurting. I asked the surgeon afterwards about the pain and she said it sounded like a rotator cuff. The pain got worse and now is consistent, it's not getting better or worse. It does not hurt in normal activity, but certain motions/activities it hurts really bad, such as putting on a coat or reaching around putting my belt on. Am I going to have to live with this......

From what both you say and the doctors commentsit seems like it is unrelated to the PM.

Physical Therapy is one recommended treatment for rotator cuff problems.

In some states you can go directly to a PT (depending on insurance). In others you need a referral from your doctor.

I agree

I agree with Bill. I just went through exactly the same problem you are having. I thought I would need surgery, but instead I went through many weeks of Physical Therapy. I was skeptical going into it, but when completed, I had better range of motion and strength than before the tear. The pain also subsided after about a month. I would have never believed that PT could make that much of a difference. It made a believer out of me. My insurance paid for it all, but I needed a referral from my orthopedist. He was happy to give that to me.
