I had a Medtronic Evera ICD put in last October and have been miserable every since. I'm 100% dependent on pacing and have had an ICD since 2003. It's true I've recently gone into atrial standstill and am back in sinus rhythm after years of afib. And I'm miserable. Tests this week are showing that my heart rate isn't elevating when I exert myself. Just getting dressed forces me to rest. I was on the exercise bike for 1/2 hour and my HR never exceeded 62. The perimeters are set from 60-120. So was the old one. But it's just since this new device was put in that this has been happening.
This forum is a great discovery. I came here to see if I could survive an EMP attack ( LOL ) but think I have more pressing concerns right now and am hoping someone can advise me on what's going on with this device. It's a Medtronic Evera XT DR,
Thanks for reading. I have lots of info to share but I just don't understand what's happening right now.

Call and ask to be seen. It sounds like the settings aren't the same on the new one. Sometimes the features are different on the new one so it's hard to get them exactly the same and they'll need to be tweaked, or sometimes they're just not paying attention and set it differently when they do the replacement. I got a new one 3 weeks ago and have the opposite problem, every little thing gets me racing. Between us, we're just perfect ;) I haven't called yet because it's a little annoying when I'm messing around the house but I may like it when I get back to the gym (tape on the incision hasn't come off yet so I'm not allowed to work out yet).
Rate response can be adjusted to get your rate up higher when you exert. Have you tried walking/running rather than the bike? The device senses movement before rate response kicks in to boost our rate for us. When we bike, our torso isn't moving so unless you have one that also senses breathing, it won't realize you're exerting so it won't raise your rate. When in doubt, call them!
Don't lose any sleep over an EMP attack lol
