Experiment

That's the only advice I have. I tried 7 new styles before I found something that didn't rub on my incision or uncomfortably push the scar tissue. In fact, my EP told me not to wear one if possible for the first 2-3 months to allow the pacemaker pocket to form without being pushed around by a bra. Now I prefer camisoles with a built in bra or a sports bra that fastens in the front. The camisole is by far the most comfortable. Hope this helps a bit.

Everyone's different!

Hi Traveling Gal,

Since pacemaker placements and incisions are all different, I think it's hard to give one standard recommendation. As Betsy said, you'll need to experiment. I've personal found I like the "demi" bra style because the straps are out to the side and don't rub my incision. I also prefer a really snug sports bra when exercising to minimize movement.

Good luck!

Whatever feels comfortable

I wore a sports bra in the first couple of weeks because the wide strap extended over the incision. Once the incision healed I found my regular bras rubbed, so through trial and error, I now wear balconette bras (I think they're the same as a demi, in US English) because the straps are set wider.

I have a friend with an incision in a different location, and she had no issues.

Go get fitted

I'm a 38 c, so I'm unable to go without. I went to Victoria Secrets and got a fitting. They let me try try on all different styles and I was able to find one that did not rub across the scar or implant, then got to choose my color!!!

Did not change anything

I did not change my brand ...it does not bother me. But, I just bought some new Hanes bras that are very comfortable and the straps are soft. Check this brand out they have beautiful colors and styles.

Thanks for all the advice, was going to ask the same question here myself. Had an ICD fitted 2 weeks ago and although the wound site is healing nicely and getting less sore each day, I was still experiencing discomfort in my breast, plus neck and back ache, which I put down to being a size 38 G cup and having been bra less for several weeks. After much search I finally found a comfortable bra, front opening, wide soft shoulder straps and cotton. Made such a difference. Was difficult to find locally in shops but found online from Marisota.co.uk

Hope this helps.
