Hi guys, my 5 year old son had heart surgery a year ago at the Mayo. He had a airtic mechanical valve put in and a pace maker. His pace maker was put in his abdomen because he didn't have enough room in the chest area. Recently he's been complaining of pain inside and a burning sensation. Has any one heard of this or know if this is normal?

It may be nothing......hopefully it is, but it is always better to be safe than sorry!

Regardless of what it is, I'd get it checked out ASAP. No one dies of embarrassment and it's OK to be embarrassed and not have a problem that to let a problem get out of hand.
Most of the posts on this forum are from Mother's going crazy because their kids feel good and they are doing stuff they aren't supposed to.
If a five year old is complaining, something isn't right. It could be the flu, but I'd like to know that for sure. The pain "inside" doesn't sound normal.
Please get him checked out quickly.
