shortness of breath

I'am wondering if anyone has ever had this problem. I just got my pacemaker two days ago on Wednesday, August 26th. In the two days I've had it, I have been experiencing a shortness of breath and trouble breathing. Has anyone else ever had or heard of this? I would appreciate any feedback.

There could be any number of reasons for the shortness of breath. If it is a new problem, you should contact your doctor. If it is difficult to cope with it, don't rule out a trip to the emergency room. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
I've had that very problem on numerous occasions. Went to the emergency room on one and they couldn't find anything. Visited the doctor on another and again, found nothing. I had been overweight and stressed-out when the breathing problems occurred, so that may have been the reason. I have lost weight since then and have not had breathing problems since. I may never know? Certainly, stress can cause it as well as lots of other problems.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.................

While still in the hospital. They gave me a medication in my I.V. for inflammation and it helped immediately. The doctor actually noticed it first when he was checking my lungs in my room after surgery. You know how they ask you to take a deep breath? I couldn't do it.
If you're concerned, definitely check with the EP who placed your pm.

As others have pointed out, there could be any number of reasons for your shortness of breath. If that is the ONLY symptom you're having (i.e., no chest pains, no pain in your left arm, no pain in your jaw, etc.), I'd suggest calling your doctor's office and talking to the doc or his/her nursing staff. Another good source of info is the PM clinic at your hospital; they field these kinds of questions all the time.

But if your SOB is just one symptom of others you're experiencing, best to follow GoodDog's advice and visit the ER. Better to be safe than sorry.
