Flys with weights

I have been doing weights. I would like to do flys, but my doc said might not do with leads. I did flys with my other pacemaker because I never checked, nothing happen. Anyone do flys and other suggestions for weights. I already do bisceps, triceps, but not chest press. I am a women so weights not heavy. Whats safe with a pacemaker in chest.

Some drs are more conservative than others. If it's a standard instruction he gives everyone, I would question it. Do you have new leads, something that would make it more dangerous than when you had your old one? Assuming he doesn't have a particular reason why it's extra dangerous for you when many of us do it, I'd proceed with caution and go for it. But that's just me, I'm not a dr so take my advice with a grain of salt. I have a very liberal dr, very supportive and always encouraging me to forget about my heart and go do whatever I want. I've been paced since 1993 and he's never once told me not to do something active.

I used to work out with light weights but now I do boot camp 5 days a week, we go heavy with barbells as well as push ups, pull ups, running, kettlebells, etc. It's been a year and a half now, no lead problems, no pm problems.

Sometimes I overdo it and the scar tissue gets a little achy for a few days. Harmless and it goes away.
