I had my 2nd pacemaker installed with no lead change. My old doctor spelled out what my restrictions were for my 1st one. But, my new doctor did not give definite restrictions, he waivered his responses. What did your doctor tell you ? I exercise, so when can I lift light weights ? When can I put my arms over my head (I do ballet w/weights) So, please help.

This is exactly why I go to pacemaker.com website. Now I feel informed.

The restrictions for the original implant were to allow the leads to settle in. So as far as post operative recovery its just a matter of letting the incision heal. For a week or so its just a matter of not stretching the incision. You can verify this yourself by just looking in the mirror.
My replacement was done outpatient and I was back to full activity (for me) the next day.
Enjoy,
frank

TraceyE is right on. You need to be cautious with the incision to ensure it heals properly and that an infection doesn't occur. I would be extra careful in your workout regiment for a couple of weeks while it heals.
You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

all you need to worry about this time is the incision healing. All the other restrictions you had last time were for the leads.
