How long?

Hi, I went to pacer check in Feb. 2015 and was told I had basically 3 and a half year left but about 4 days ago I started noticing side effects similar to when my last pacemaker went into EOP mode..(I've had this one since 09)

So, I tried to do a teletrace but my machine wasn't working for me so I called and they are sending me a new one right away as soon as they can but.. how long can a person go in the EOP mode?

I'm in a wheelchair so I really don't work up any type of a sweat or a racing pulse at all LOL But the thought of just getting in car to GO to doc makes it race! I am not leaving home until its absolutely necessary. It doesnt do it constantly and when I check my pulse its always mid 60's or higher...Anyone else dealt with EOP much?

Callled hubby (and my heart docs office) he is going to rush home as fast as he can and take me to ER if needed.
Im afraid to go try and get dressed!

Even in EOP, it shouldn't let you get under 60. The main difference is it won't get you higher than that, it simply keeps us from getting dangerously low. Sounds like you are there!

pacing

I pace almost 100% of the time now so they said last time they switched it off to check. I know this sort of feels like it did when the lead got pulled out last time. Out of breath easy when I get and do much, very uncomfortable feeling in my chest etc..

they think that the new teletrace machine should be here sometime next week so I will see what it tells them. We love so far away from my doc and hubby getting off work I just don't want to till I have no choice.

I know you cant change when the pacers want to be redone but I am so not ready yet! LOL I had a spell a minute ago and my pulse was 60. I had gotten up and went to the bathroom. shakes head.

I think I remember something they said about 45? The last time they shut it off it still barely captured down around 38 but NOT well at all!

yikes

Just had my pacer replaced April 17. I was due for replacement and one old bad lead replacement this coming Nov. Beginning of April felt like I was in Afib with irregular heart beat. Went to doc to check pacer on a Fri. and found out battery was dead. Waited three days to wean from blood thinner and had three leads removed(1 bad, 1 dead previously and 1 about to go) a new pacer and new leads put in. Bottom line, get to the doctor to have it checked and replaced asap.

3 months

That mode lasts approximately 3 months. Do you know how much you pace? If you pace all the time and are getting above 60, then you have probably not switched modes yet. If you sometimes go higher on your own, it's hard to tell without getting it checked.
