When I was in the hospital I was told do not eat any can food any more and a list of food not to eat.
What do you all eat?
I'm getting tired of chicken and the only vegetables I like are green beans and broccoli
Some things I can't eat because I'm on a low potassium diet and also am diabetic
Need help please

I was also advised a low sodium diet (CHF). There is usually a HUGE amount of sodium in canned foods so you are much better with fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables. If frozen, just make sure there is no added salt or sugar in the ingredients....only the produce. I have kept my blood glucose low and have been able to stay off Metformin for the past few years. Diet and exercise really help.
You can get creative with spices and use beans for your protein. Homemade salsa and hummus. We have meatless meals anywhere from 3-5 times a week now. Often a salad with beans....chic peas or black beans for example. I now prefer a salad to anything else!
See if there is a Diabetes Education Center or class in your area. They are very helpful in the beginning and it is eye-opening about hidden salt and sugar in foods. Bread is loaded with both. I really like good bread but now I have it very seldom as a treat. Managing diabetes is all about counting carbs and knowing what your allowance of carbs is for the day and staying below that limit. Also knowing good carbs (natural) and bad carbs (processed foods).
Reading labels is a must! It's a little time consuming in the beginning but after awhile you know what foods to avoid and what you can have...again, the more natural and less processed carbs the better. There is also a lot of salt and sugar in salad dressings so beware.
A good rule of thumb is if the sodium content is larger than the calorie count per serving.....there is too much sodium in it. So if the calories are 200 per serving but the sodium is 350mg.....don't eat it.
If we eat dinner out and I carefully choose my meal, I can still easily gain 3-4 lbs. the next morning....just from the unknown salt. It affects me that much.
Juice is also loaded with sugar...water is much better. It keeps you hydrated and quenches your thirst. I make green smoothies with kale or spinach, other veggies and fruits for lunch. It is very filling and tastes great. Even my sons like it....well, some of them. :-) Some just won't try it because they can't get past the green color.
Hope this helps with a few ideas. Do look into taking a class. I'm not sure about the low potassium diet so look into that as well. There may be certain fruits and veggies you should avoid.

He said can food because he said it's high in sodium but I've been reading the labels and some are high and some are much lower in sodium. I forgot to write that I have high blood pressure.
Hmm...Weird

My Dr's mentioned nothing about canned food? Most of the canned items you buy, you can also get fresh. What else can you not eat?
Your sick of chicken...maybe ground turkey? Fish? Do you not enjoy salads?

Don't know where this is coming from. I was given no restrictions, except to stay away from to much caffeine.
I eat anything and everything. I do try to eat in moderation, except for potato chips. I eat about two large bags a week. However, I justify that as a vegetable.
The only reason I can think of why some one would say that is the potential of BPA contamination. BPA is a chemical which can mimic human estrogen and is linked to breast cancer and early puberty in women.

Generally, but not always, canned veggies are loaded with sodium. There are some exceptions, but you have look really hard to find them.
We typically use fresh veggies, for two reasons; one, less to no sodium and two, usually tastes better. We have a microwave steamer we put them in and are ready in just a few minutes.
I agree with Grateful Heart, if not careful when eating out I can feel it for the next few days!!
