severe chest pain

My eldest daughter had an ICD fitted 1 week ago, after loosing my youngest daughter to sudden adult death 5 weeks ago, and a history of heart problems in our family. My Eldest daughter is now suffering boust of severe chest pain in her heart, she is in hospital yet again tonight.
Im so worried and cant find any reason for this severe pain, bloods, ecg, and scan all appear normal.
Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this and any possible causes.
many thanks xx

It's called stress & anxiety

You did not say WHY the daughter got the ICD. There must have been some medical diagnosis requiring an ICD - That is NOT a surgery performed for spurious reasons.

Stress & anxiety can cause pain , discomfort, misery & AL the symptoms of a heart attack as well as many of the symptoms of electrical system problems.

These causes are NOT where you start. They are where you go AFTER ruling out all the physical causes of the symptoms.

BTDT from stress/anxiety. In my case, it was onset of PTSD brought home from a tour in Viet Nam.

Pls let us know why she rec'd the ICD - it may help someone formulate a better suggestion as to the cause.

If you'd like,I'll be happy to describe some more of the aspects of stress/anxiety for you.

Heatherhi,
Sending you cyberhugs for all you are going through. I believe it must be the worst emotional pain imaginable for a parent to outlive one of their own children, adult or not.

My family members were all devastated when we lost my brother unexpectedly 14 1/2 years ago to heart attack from an undetected congenital issue; My Mother eventually passed through all the stages of grief, yet she still deeply mourns the loss of her son and is forever changed by it.

As to your other daughter's pain, have the Drs explored the possibility of a compromised nerve or nerves? A dear friend went through a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation like a soldier. The one thing she complained of was the constant pain from the implanted port for administering the chemo drugs. Even after the port was removed, she suffered pain at the sight for months. 5 years later she still gets pain twinges alternating with numbness across that section of her chest- the opposite side from the mastectomy and radiation. Diagnosed nerve damage from the placement/position of the port.

Perhaps this info is of no help in figuring out the cause of your daughter's pain, but I wanted to suggest another option for the Drs to explore.

My best wishes for you and yours.
