Tanning

Is there any reason I can't go tanning? I've had my implant for over 3 years. I'm new to the group so I would invite any and all advice.

Kathy

Tanning OK

The question came up recently. OK to tan, biggest problem is exposure to UV radiation. As far as PM goes, it doesn't do anything.

I've been tanning since December....I got my PM in Oct of 2014. It makes you feel good to be a little tan.

Having grown up in Florida, I was in the sun every day. As a youngster, spend as much time as possible on the beach, or at least outdoors.

Paying for that now as they burn off more and more suspicious spots on the my skin. Had the Mohrs surgery on my scalp once, and now probably have another spot they will have to take off that way....

Too much sun exposure can in some cases cause melanoma. My son in law has just died from melanoma at age 35. Please be careful.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
