I have had a medtronic mri compatiable PM implanted one month ago. I have notice that if I walk just from the kitchen to bedroom my HR jumps to 105 or so. This does not seem normal to me. Is it the rate response setting? Any input?
Thanks

Everyone's HR should increase when you walk or move, otherwise you would feel uncomfortable and SOB upon any exertion.
Not everyone needs RR turned on....it depends why you needed the PM, like wjs said.
After we get a PM or ICD, we tend to become more aware of our hearts and notice everything, especially in the beginning. You just may not have noticed it before.
When in doubt, ask your Doc, he can make some adjustments to your settings if necessary.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.

could be depending on what it is set at as far as sensitivity. Without knowing any info about your age, reason for PM, or physical condition..hard to know . Actually even if i knew all your info I would still only be a guessing. Check with your Doc or PM rep see what they say, and have them look at setting.
