wondering...
I received my first ICD shock after 15 years this past SAT, well, a bit unnerving, to say the lease,, not a good explanation, may have been dehydration perhaps, anyone have any similiar events??

I appreciate your info, have seen the Sanger folks, my heart rate was a bit over 200 beats per minute, so, BOOM, they have since added 2 12 second Pace applications, before the big one, if I have another event, mine was totally out of the clear blue sky,, after 15 years,, wow,, surprised is a gross understatement, we are lucky in that these devices can and will extend our life, a true blessing in the scope of things, I just need to get up, dust myself off, and restart my 5 time a week exercises, and drink plenty of fluids, and check magnesium and potassium levels to insure I am doing right with my diet I suppose,, anyway, good luck to you, and blessings your way for protection and well being,, and yes, happiness,, bye Kelly Moore

I was typing as you posted your last comment. Glad you got checked out.
I am set to shock at 220 (which I have gone over a few times, not trying to) but I have an 8 second delay and they haven't lasted 8 seconds....thank goodness.

So appears we are close to the same in our ICD experience,, have you ever gotten treatment, sounds as if you have, and if so,,, what did they tell you,,, and did they give you any tips on how NOT to get zapped, ha,, mine was lower my wine intake, and stay hydrated, vague, but made a believer out of me, getting zapped,, it an eye awakener, for me anyway,, so share if you will,, thanks

dang dude,,,pretty incredible story, and if you gotta go, why not that way, ha, teasing of course,,,I am learning that if our potassium, or magnesium, or dehydration gets too low, can absolutely affect the electrical part of our hearts, and with extended exercise, in your case, ZAP,,, may want to be sure and stay hydrated brother, especially if you have had alcohol of any type... a must.... and ICD is a good send, no doubt, but WE have to maintain it, and now that you know what a ZAP feels like,, well, enough said,, YOU don't want another, so do all you can to prepare for that not to happen,, and sex has zip to do with it, long as you have liquids and stuff, OK,, good luck man,,,,while sex is great, I am sure,,,, nothing is worth a SHOCK like that, in my book anyway,, just saying,, stay safe....

You invested in the Energizer battery company.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.

It shouldn't be ignored.
My CRT-D is 6 years old and I have not been shocked yet.
If and when the time comes, I will be heading to a hospital. My EP is 60 miles away and his hospital is even further. The local office does interrogations but no one wants to touch/ change any settings on my device.
You should find out the cause like Sparrow said.
