Good morning all.
I got my PM last month and not sure about the Latitude monitor.
I have it plugged into landline beside my bed. I check the functioning of it from time to time by pushing the status buton on back for more than three seconds and all is go with it. But I never see any of those indicators light up I.E. the one where it is SUPPOSED to light up if it is in the process of performing a reading or has performed a reading. So, I don't know if it works or is just taking up much needed space.
If someone can answer that for me I would appreciate it!

Latitude monitor

I have had the Boston Scientific Latitude Monitor since mid June. The green light is always on so I am assuming all is fine. I was told that the remote 3 month interrogations occur in the middle of the night around 2 AM. I have only had one so far which was last Nov. I assume that if if checks you out more often and all is normal, nothing else happens. I have never had anyone explain how it works. They just handed me the box when I left the hospital. You may get the best info by calling Boston Scientific. I have found them to be helpful.
Also, I have mine in the adjacent bedroom and the signal goes thru the wall. Didn't like the green light!
Good luck and let us know if you find more info!

I have a Boston Scientific Latitude monitor. This is my second one---put in Nov. 2013. The first one checked my device every morning about 6:00 a.m. But this new one says it checks the device every Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. It will also pick up on anything that goes wrong. If you have it turned on and set it up like the instructions said, then it is working. You can also call Boston Scientific if you have any questions. I've called them many times. Maybe this will help.
You know you're wired when...

Same questions about my Merlin Monitor
by Artist - 2015-02-09 01:02:14
I have similar questions about my Merlin monitor that is used by those like me with St. Jude PMs. I have received conflicting and confusing information. Mine has been plugged in for two months and I don't know if it is monitoring every night or just periodically as specifically ordered by my cardiologist. The literature implies that I will be sent information regarding a monitoring schedule.
I have received no such schedule. Finally, two nights ago I woke up at 4 am to find my phone in use light flashing, indicating that the Merlin was reporting something. I don't know if it was a routine check or if the monitor picked up a problem and was reporting it. It is frustrating trying to get a response to questions by phoning the doctor's office so I am going to put my questions in writing and drop them off at the doctor's office. I would like to know if the monitor is basically just sitting there doing nothing most of the time and is only active occasionally when checks are ordered.
I will also be asking if I can take a week or two for vacations away from home without dragging the monitor with me along with my CPAP machine. Both of those would be unsafe to pack in luggage and would have to be carry on luggage. If I get some answers I will post them. I will be watching this thread with interest.
