Hi all!
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and was treated for the pain with Novocaine injections. I had my dual lead pacemaker inserted Jan 2015. In April 2015 I had to go back in for a location revision because the pacemaker was trying to be an escapee by pushing outwards and was very uncomfortable. I had a really bad time with the revision surgery. It did not want to heal. I ended up with adhesive on my chest for almost 10 months. About 2 months ago I started getting pain above the incision site again. It continued to get worse to the point where it was affecting mobility and everyday tasks. Totally wore me out. I went in for a fluoroscope and there was nothing wrong with the leads so I received about 4 shots of Novocaine above the incision scar by the collarbone as a pain block. It seems to have dulled the pain to manageable levels. Still uncomfortable at times but I can raise my arm without going to my knees. The goal was to avoid moving the pacemaker again. especially since I had such a hard time when they moved it last time, and that I don't tolerate and can't take pain meds. My question is if you have had this done, how long did it last and have you had to keep doing it?
