First pacemaker

Hi,
I'm 49 years old and recently had a duel lead pacemaker fitted for atrial fibrillation.
Have previously had three ablations with little response so am now into my second week with a pm! very scary and my left arm is still really painful? is this normal?

Painful how?

If it's swollen, red, hot areas or streaks, that could be a clot and needs to be seen immediately.

Are you using it? Don't raise it above shoulder level and don't lift anything heavy, other than that it's important to use it normally so your shoulder doesn't freeze.

Don't overdo it, but try hard to use it normally so it loosens up again. Ice or heat may help, try both to see which feels best. Two weeks isn't that long, it will get better!

I called my doctor's nurse today about shoulder pain. She said she was surprised that that was the only pain I was having. Her words were" I'll bet you are sore, there is a lot of pushing and pressure to get the PM..in" so as long as you did not have symptoms of infection, I would simply call your doctors nurse and tell her/him what is happening.
