minutvolume sensor problems

I have some problems with my minutvolume sensor. My technician switsched it off. The problem is that working in garding, and other movements of arms generate a stronger signal than my breathing. So bending tie shoelaces results in higher frequency tthan maximum breating. Who is familiar with this complaint. I have a Boston-science W275.

Problems with MV sensor

Hi!

I'm familiar with minute ventilation sensors in combination with a motion sensor, though not with those by Boston Scientific (I had this combination in an old Medtronic pacer and in a Sorin pacer). While the sensor is the same, the programming/setting options of the sensor differ between manufacturers.

The problem you are describing is something I experienced when doing certain exercises to strengthen the arm, shoulder and chest muscles, and sometimes also when brushing my teeth. While there was no way to switch this unwanted effect off - without having to switch the minute ventilation sensor off completely -, my cardio was able to reduce the effect by changing some settings, so that the rate response became less aggressive. However, this of course led to the response being less aggressive when exercising, too. It was a compromise I had to make.

Since I had a different manufacturer than you, I cannot tell you 1:1 which settings you have to change. So, you should ask your cardio about programming the rate response a little less aggressive/sensitive, but with both sensors switched on. I know that Boston Scientific has ways and means to do so, each sensor has several programming options, but it might take a while to find the perfect settings for you. Keep pushing for optimization until you feel better. It should be possible, without having to switch a sensor off.

Good luck!
