ICD replacement periods
Hi to members
Any experience with the longest period of replacement ?
My ICD device is fitted exactly four years ago, with no activation- without shock, works only like a pacemaker for about 1% of the day, during night (physician claims).
Device is Biotronik Lumax with St.Jude electrode.
thanks in advance...

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.

I have had my (2nd) Boston Sci CRT-D for 5 years. Just had it interrogated yesterday and they said I have estimated 6 1/2 years battery life left. I first one only lasted four years before battery was replaced. They have came a long way with battery live. No shocks on ether units paced 100%.
