Going Home at Last.

Hello Friends and Fellow pacers.

I am about to conquer my fear. After 3 years, of being afraid to make the commitment to go visit my family in Paris, France, I AM GOING!
I have non refundable tickets, so I can't change my mind. Lol.
I must admit that I'm a little nervous at the prospect of such a long flight, ( first time in the air with a pacemaker, ) and I hope it all goes smoothly.
I haven't seen my brothers or sisters or my mother in 11 years.
Peter Nash, if you stand on the edge of your property, I'll wave at you from Calais. We'll be looking at some property over that way, as well as down south.
Wish me luck, I'll bring back some fabulous photos.

Love to all.

~ Dominique ~

I have had my PM since 1987 and have travelled quite a few places. I hate and detest flying but to go places, it is the best form of transport. The worst part about it is the inconvenience at the airport where we have to be frisked because we cannot go through the arch in case we set the detectors off. Mind you me being a female, it would be so bad if it were a hunky tunk of a man. (sorry) for being so cheeky.

Yee haw!

Hi Dominique!

My grandfather was born and raised in Paris! How wonderful you are going. I am so happy for you. I had such a wonderful time while visiting Peter and we stood on the shores of the North Sea facing France.

The flight was no problem for me. Allow extra time for the security. You will be fine. This is the really important part....

WEAR SOMETHING THAT IS COMFORTABLE. I took a change of things for me to wear so I could freshen up before I landed. I was so thankful. I don't look my best when I have been sleeping in my clothes all night.

Good luck, have a wonderful time and wave at Peter for me!

this is cool that you have decided to go. i know it is a bit of a worry. i flew to seattle in may less than a year after my pacemaker was implanted. i was just fine and i just flew recently. i know it is a long flight to france and that it is a bit imtimidating for sure. i will pray that you have no problems. i am glad you are going with your husband as at least you are somewhat more securewith him there. it will be nice to visit for a time with your family. it will be nice to see your mother. so take care and i wish you all the best. maureen

After nearly dying and my family being told that there was no hope left and to say goodbye , I recovered and got a pacemaker. 3 months later I travelled from England to New Zealand and climbed a mountain. The person I was climbing with gave up because the climbing was too strenuous !!! Can anyone beat that? Peter

How exciting!

Hi. Go enjoy your trip and the flight. Since I had the PM, I have flown numerous times to many continents. No effect at all. The only annoyance is the security checks but once you get the routine it is a breeze. Remember to bring along your pacemaker card. I just walked through the metal detectors, the alarm goes off, I make my way to be frisked, tell the officer nicely I have had surgery and have metal in the body (point to heart), show them the pacemaker card. They will just wave their metal detector wand over me and they let me pass. No fuss.

Wish you a pleasant flight.
