I'm no expert on clots, but the leads are in the veins which go TO the heart. Clots, I think, happen in arteries, which go AWAY from the heart.

Blood Clots in veins

In arteries where plaque builds up they can rupture and the blood clots blocks the artery. They is what causes heart attacks and strokes.

Since arteries get smaller in the direction of blood flow they usually don't move.

However, clots in veins are very common. Deep vein thrombus. It more often occurs in the legs.

And since veins get larger in the direction of blood flow they can move. And move to the lung and cause pulmonary embolism.

Both can be very dangerous.

And Upper Extremity Deep-Vein Thrombosis after PM is not uncommon.

"The classic presentation of upper extremity DVT is acute discomfort; arm swelling; and risk factors such as vigorous arm exercise, an implanted central venous catheter or pacemaker, or a history of DVT. Edema, discoloration, and visible venous collaterals are also typical signs."
