Only a few times have a gotten the really big shocks from my ICD, but I get smaller corrective shocks a lot. They are very uncomfortable. Feels like somebody is hitting me in the ribs from the inside and I can't breath.
My situation is this.....
The smaller shocks are happening everyday on my way to work, at the same point in my drive. It's a small two-lane road. There are no underground scales or nearby power stations. I drive the same road home and it doesn't happen on my way home. But on my way to work, as soon as I hit that dip in the road in the Eastbound lane, my ICD starts shocking me and won't stop. It takes everything I have to get the the nearest point that I can pull over. I pull over, turn off my truck, and try to relax until it stops, then I go on to work.
Same spot. Everyday. I live on a peninsula, so there's no way around it. Does anybody have any idea what is happening???

Thanks for the clarification. I am a bit naive when it comes to these topics! :(
i would test

Probably sounds stupid and i am only guessing..
But i think i would try 1) drive in a different way, 2) dive the raod a different time of day..
That would at least give you a little more info as too Maybe (computer) PM internal error that is time related? or could be some kind of electrical disconnect in PM caused by road condition? or could be underground cable strong surge in that area? or none of above, but you could rule them out...
just reread

ok forget about different drive in....but maybe change the time by like 30 minutes
Is it a 90's thing?

I was doing some cleaning recently and ran across an old Sony Walkman from the early 1990's. I dusted it off and put a new battery in it. I clipped it to the front of my bib overalls and the closer I moved it toward my pacer, I heard a steady clicking sound. The clicking was steady at 60 clicks per minute, the same rate as my pacer.
This sound reminded me of when I lived on a farm and would tune my car radio to an AM station, and if there was a short in the fence, it would make a clicking sound on the car radio. Just wondering if there is a connection.
As for the ICD shocking you at the same time each day, one other thing that happened way back when I lived on a farm. Everyday at exactly the same time, the local radio station would boost it's power. Just wondering if they still do that and maybe you are at place where a similar booster signal may be amplified and messing with your ICD. But I don't have an ICD and I am still learning, but I just thought I give you my two cents.
You mentioned a dip

Does driving over the dip in the road create a jarring of you and your vehicle? I wonder if that might have some correlation...
Scared

I have no advice for you, as I just got my PM inserted 3 weeks ago...but the fact that you can feel the shocks scares me? Is this a common thing? I am new with mine and I have never had heart issues before and I am still learning...
Time....

I hadn't considered a time-related malfunction. That's an interesting thought. I'll have to start writing down the exact time that it happens and see what I can see.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
Couple of things...

I'm on my third unit. My first 2 were just pacers. I never felt anything with those unless they were being interrogated by the tech, even then it was only flutters. Don't worry. You won't feel anything :-)

I went to my tech when these first started happening, thinking that I had developed yet another arrhythmia (as I have done regularly throughout the last 20 years). He is the one that told me that these are little shocks. That's the only reason that I know for sure.

I drive a '92 GMC Shortbed. If you've ever driven a 90's model pickup after the 90's, you know that they are bumpy rides. I wonder if it's because of the way that the road moves the truck in that spot, which isn't a noticeable different from the rest of the time. Like maybe it jars me in just the right/wrong way.
I don't know what to think. I'm going to keep up with all the details. Start watching for some sort of evidence to whether it's the time or the place.
