tough surgery /optimistic with new pm

Just recently had a Boston Scientific K174 implanted. I love to run and I have total av block and SSS. The last 5 years have been frustrating to endure a minimum of a 5k.
1. I am not sure what your experience was with your operation, but I experienced some anxiety due to the surgery teams not applying any anesthesia or meds. while waiting in covered status with a restrained feeling. this went on for what seemed 15 to 20 minutes until the doctor was ready. Is this normal? I almost had to have them stop the procedure until drugs were administered.
2. With the new PM, I am optimistic the new features with pacing therapies and will provide increased stamina and increase my running pace. Anyone else have goo reports with setting changes that increased their ability to run faster and longer?

I felt anxiety while I lay on the table, time seems to slow down. I was given a relaxant but not sure if it kicked in right a way. But I trusted that the medical team knew what they were doing and everything seemed to go just fine. My condition was SSS and Afib. It will be two years in October. I don't run but have a physically demanding job. They check the settings every 6 months, they seem to do an OK job.

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
