crt and av node ablation

Just curious I'm soon to have a crt device implant along with an av node ablation operation. I have questions does it work well for you. Can you tell something else is beating for the heart. Does it take awhile to get used to. How long is surgery and recovery. Will I be eligible for heart transplant list after implant. Thanks can't find anyone with this device to talk to.

Being curious about your device is a good thing--in the opinion of most of us.

Go to the SEARCh function (on the upper right, just under the Pacemaker Club header) Enter CRT. You'll find lots of people with CRTs here and be able to see their questions and read the answers. Scrolling through will give you a good overview.

About feeling the device pacing. Some rare people do, but it's rare. Most don't.

Some of your questions like how long is the surgery/recovery are best discussed with your doctor. He/she knows your diagnosis, condition, and overall health. Same for question about heart transplant.

As for getting replies here, the more specific your question, the more likely someone will read it, and think--oh, I know that.

As already discussed, length of surgery and recovery is not a set time. It all depends on your general health before it is placed. Your doctor will be able to give you some kind of idea, Personally I had a quick physical recovery, it was the mental that took more time (although I had no warning it was done in a hurry with me needing an external pacer between). It is all how your body and your mind take it in! I don't know if you have been told you will require a transplant at some point, but a device will most definately not make you ineligable!!there are a lot of
answers already here but always feel free to post your questions if you need help.
Best of Health to you!
