Hi guys. My 4 year old daughter had the pacemaker implanted on June 4,2014 because she was diagnosed with complete heart block 3rd degree. Her left ventricle was the size of a 10 year old. So She has had check ups since then and all were fine. Her teacher recently contacted us with questions to see if everything was ok. They told me she sometimes just go lay down and pass out to sleep and it's hard to wake her. When they do wake her they said she's lost. So I've called her doctor but haven't heard anything yet. Could this mean a problem with a pacemaker? She does great at home without any problems so I'm totally confused. Can anyone relate and ease my mind because I'm getting worried!! Thanks u guys!!!

Great advice from Sparrow on kids and food. It's probably not her heart but definitely get it checked out. Could it just be that she still needs a nap? Esp if school is new, she might just be tired!
p.s. I have CCHB and my heart was enlarged as a kid. It's normal now. Guess I grew into it ;)

It's very hard to tell with little ones.
You know your child best, so go by your gut feeling. That saved my son when he was 3 years old. I went by my gut and it turned out, he had bacterial meningitis. After 10 days in the hospital, he made a full recovery, thank God.
I'm assuming "school" must be new to her so maybe she doesn't realize where she is when she wakes up BUT....if you know she is not a heavy sleeper, you did right by calling the Doctor. If nothing else, to ease your mind.
Keep us posted.
