Does anyone know if having an ICD for low ejection fraction qualifies for Social Security Disability?

Don't even get me started on benefits.I have ICD and am not entitled to any benefits at all.The whole system is entirely wrong as you have a life threatening condition but you don't literally tick the right boxes on the form to qualify. My advice to you is to not tell the truth cos got me nowhere!Good luck

You should go to SSA listing of impairments adult listing Part A. Under cardovascular 4.00 find your symptoms and match them up. You should look under 4.05. You should have some underlying heart condition that has caused your low ejection fraction. Having the ICD does qualify you for disability. This can be a way to get on medicare after the two wait period also. I did this all on line and your case worker will get all the necessary paperwork from the doctors. Just use the language they use when describing your heart problems. I just got my medicare, but not before I spent 5 days at Brigham Women's for high heart rate of 188. Found out I have Sarcoidosis which caused my heart block and led to my CHF. My ejection fraction is still at 32%, Just take it step by step and make sure you list ALL symptoms.
