Pacemaker Ache

Hello Again :)
So three months post-op and after lots of fun (complications). I was wondering if it is normal for the skin above the pacemaker to feel like pin pricks or pinching if you touch it or sometimes just moving will cause the pain. Also today I'm noticing an ache over the pacemaker site. Even just breathing seems to bother it right now. It also seems as if it may have moved some closer to my arm pit and the bra strap doesn't help. I chose to have it put on my right side because I drive a lot and may end up driving as my job but I've also had 3 shoulder surgeries on the same side and now I'm wondering how wise that was. :(
Although the few times I've been a passenger the seat belt does bother me so I guess it's best right where it is but mannnnnn is it going to be this painful and sensitive forever?

WEIRD STUFF

I'm also 3 months out from generator change and it is much different that implantation. Am 100% dependent on the PM. Also have had 15 cardioversions and 8 procedures. I am going through all the local stuff. PM still rumaging around, sometimes going up to clavicle, causing brachial plexus symptoms. Today I am feeling weird little mini-shocks, so I signed up for this site. Thanks for any feedback.

Ant Bites

After a lead revision, that's what it felt like to me....or needle sticks. The nerves are knitting back together so you may have these sharp feelings off and on for a few months. I remember actually looking at my incision feeling like I was just bitten by an ant...they hurt!

We are all different but I know exactly what you mean. My device and leads protrude and are very close to my arm pit irritating the skin. The bra strap is a problem too. It's a man's world. :-)

Some people say it may be because you are skinny. Well I am far from skinny.

You are only 3 months out so you are still healing and the device takes time to settle in. The sensitivity should get better. Keep an eye on it and call your Doctor if it gets worse.

Do feel free to contact the manufacturer of your device. I have found them to be quite helpful when I have had questions and concerns.
