Hubby was feeling very tired so we went in for his first adjustment to his pacemaker. The rate response was adjusted as well as the upper threshold increased. His blood pressure has been the lowest its ever been since the pacemaker adjustment. He usually runs 130/low 80s and he is suddenly in the 110's/low 70s. While I know that a lower blood pressure is better for a heart failure patient, he is feeling pretty crummy.
1. Why the drop in pressure?
2. How soon would he feel the effects of a setting adjustment.
Thanks!

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Vivi...I'm no expert, other than having had a PM for over 9 years myself, so I'm speaking from past experience, it sounds like your husband needs to have the lower paced rate increased. If his heart isn't beating fast enough he isn't getting the oxygen he needs, so he's going to feel tired, and in general crumby. Contact his doctor.
