i don't know what happened to my message again?
in response to don.
i had major surgery prior to having the pm inserted. it took quite a while to recuperate from the major surgery, so it is difficult to determine how i adjusted to the pm.
what i was trying to say is that i was doing farely well and then i got a menescus tear and was unable to be physically active. most recently since i have had the menescus tear, i have become extremely exhausted. i am not sure if the exhaustion is from the constant pain from the menescus tear or it is from my pacemaker needing an adjustment. i see the EP on thurs. this week and hoping he has an answer for me.

Sorry about the problems

I'm sorry you've had multiple problems over the past two years. Reoccurring medical problems can really make you depressed because the situation never goes away. I had TMJ and it took the ortho guy five years to fix the problem. It seemed in that five years there was always a dark cloud hanging over me.
But, knowing you're depressed, that can give you a starting point. So, if possible, get help for the pain, get help for the tear. Start moving forward as much as you can.
With the TMJ I tried to focus on the day I would start to feel better. Also kept moving forward as much as I could. They wouldn't give me pain meds which was probably better because I didn't become a drug addict. So while it didn't make the pain go away, it did shift my focus.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like...

...you haven't gotten the meniscus repaired. It will NOT heal itself, only get worse.
BTDT back when I was but a youth of 18. Had to have it repaired TWICE in 8 months.
If it's bad enough to be accurately diagnosed, it's bad enough to be repaired & it's now a day surgery job w/ an arthroscope. Recovery time is short & you are up & about in just a matter of days.
I'd say that you need to start w/ the knee - then examine other issues. That alone can cause all the symptoms you mention.

It isn't the PM
by Theknotguy - 2014-01-13 08:01:01
It isn't the PM. More likely the inactivity and the pain.
I was in a medically induced coma for six days. Reverted physically to the level of a six month old baby. I'm in my 60's and the combination of the coma, a busted rib, collapsed lung, and, of course, the heart not beating made me start all over. It took two people to help me stand up the first time. Taking two steps was exhausting.
You're going to have to get moving. How? I'm not sure. Swimming perhaps? Walking with a brace?
Hope you can start to get better.
