Pacemaker type

I am considering having a neurostimulator implant for lumbar pain management. If my pacemaker is an "on-demand" device then I would be ineligible for the neurostimulator. How would I know what type of pacemaker the 5380 is?

You have a St. Jude Medical dual chamber pacemaker. The 5380 is an on demand pacemaker. All devices made today are on demand.
You can have a neurostimulator implanted and it typically will not affect your pacemaker. The doctor will have manufacture's reps come in and do device interaction tests between the two devices. This is done on a regular basis and St. Jude Medical has both pacemaker and neurostimulator divisions. I hope this helps.
