I have pacemaker now for almost 10 months and all seems good. Even started back to gym. I have the slow heart rate/fainting syndrome and pacemaker is set at 55. Most of my pacings are during the night/sleep. During the day I have noticed periods of nausea and weakness that lasts only about 5 minutes and passes. I am wondering if this is the vagal syndrome that is trying to put me down and the pacemaker is "saving" me from further episodes.
Has anyone else had vasovagal reactions after pacemaker installation?
My history includes flatline during tilt table but all other heart tests were normal. Just vasovagal episodes thru the years.
Thanks for all/any info and thanks for just being able to read all info.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.

Hi!
Vasovagal syncope is usually caused by the blood pressure AND heart rate dropping all of a sudden. Now, the pacemaker can only prevent the heart rate from dropping, but has no effect on the blood pressure. So, you are right to guess that the vasovagal syndrome is still happening, but the pacer is saving you from a full blown episode. Only your blood pressure drops, but that can still cause some symptoms like the ones you mentioned.
Best wishes
