Hello all! I am hoping someone is able to ease my mind. Since my PM implantation which was 9/30/13 I have had discomfort just above my incision. I also have what feels to be a small knot or cyst like feature just above my incision, which is actually where my lead attaches to my pacer and threads through my artery. I went to my EP two weeks ago and he stated we will keep an eye on it and to come back in 6 weeks. Tonight the discomfort became a bit more intense. It is very sharp pain which radiates to surrounding area of left chest. I can pin point to the area where the pain starts. If I tough the leAd it is very tender. Even wearing my bra strap is bothersome. Pressure. Increases pain as well as weight (such as not wearing a bra and the weight that gravity has tortured me with:) any thoughts?

I, too, have pain in my pm area after implant on sept. 26. Bra strap uncomfortable, seat belt gets put behind my back. The pain for me is a tightness or spasm or just plain pain. I actually prefer ice on site and heat behind on back. Perhaps as I heal more, heat on site will feel good. Like angry sparrow I don't touch area to know if I have any bumps. I am still rather repulsed by it. Mine sticks up and sticks out under arm pit. I am hoping time will ease my mind and body. I wish the same for you.

Stabbing Pain

Could be the nerves knitting back together. I had that off and on for about 6 months after. If felt like quick, sharp ant bites to me.
I know others on this site have felt it too. Talk to your Doc if you are concerned to ease your mind.
Feel better,

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
Pain

I have a constant dull pain around pacemaker and incision, but I can deal with that and chalk that up to normal healing process. But this pain I'm experiencing is different, it's sharp and stabbing where the lead would be inserted into pm. It comes and goes, but seems to be present more than not.
