Need EP Recommendation in Tacoma

Hi. I hope everyone is doing well.

I have a PM for Bradycardia, SSS and Dysautonomia. My mother needed a PM, and now my daughter (30 years old) is having symptoms that are eerily similar to my episodes (intense nausea, light-headedness, syncope, flushed or drenching sweats, etc). Just like me, she never vomits, so it isn't food poisoning or stomach flu. With her, it only happens a few times per year, which is also similar to me. Perhaps it is a genetic predisposition that runs in the family.

I'd like her to see a good EP who can help her diagnose her situation. Can anyone recommend an EP in Tacoma, WA or Gig Harbor, WA?

Thanks a lot.

Lou

While I don't know anything about the doctors in Tacoma, I can tell you how I found my EP. My Primary Care Physician (PCP) referred me to a Cardiologist. I fully and completely trust my PCP, but I also always do some checking on my own.

Checked the State Board for information regarding the Cardiologist, got all good news. Talked to my PCP's nurse, again, good news and a recommendation. Talked to a couple of people I know in the area who work in the medical field, again good recommendations.

Visited and liked my Cardiologist. When he recommended I get a PM/ICD, he recommended an EP. Went through the same procedures (internet search, talk to nurse, etc, etc).

I learned that the EP is considered one of the top in the SE United States Was warned that his bedside manner was not the best, but I get along with him fine.

My BIL was living in Tacoma when he went back into renal failure (transplant 28 years ago). While a totally different field, he went through Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, which is apparently very well thought of. If you know anyone associated with the hospital that would be a good place to start asking questions.

Good luck and I hope that you find someone you are comfortable with.

Thanks

I appreciate the feedback. I was hoping somebody could recommend someone they loved and had experience with on a long term basis. If nothing else, it would be a good starting point.

I agree personal recommendations aren't always reliable, so point well taken.

Cheers, Lou

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
