I went back to the pacing clinic to get some adjustments today as I still feel unwell and having massive problems walking as all of a sudden my heat rate drops all of a sudden, I got to the clinic and she said my chest was too pink and went and got a doctor and told me I have an infection, I had my first pm fitted two weeks and two days ago. I'm now him a high dose antibiotics and have to go back if it gets redder or i start to feel more unwell. She made an adjustment on the pm that works with the RR that senses the rate drop and kicks in but I can tell its not working already :( anyway I thought I would let you know x

HR drops suddenly???
by donr - 2013-08-09 08:08:36
PP: Does that mean that your HR does start to rise w/ exertion then suddenly drops? That sounds like something that can be fixed w/ a PM tweak - but we cannot tell for sure w/o the info Kathy asked you about.
You need to get that from your clinic so we can understand fully & correctly what is going on.

I Agree....

I agree with the others! Keep letting your docs know you're not feeling well so they can keep tweaking your PM if they believe that's the cause.
Most of us have out here have had bad settings at one time or the other, and when they're changed to the right ones, you won't believe how much better you will feel! It's truly amazing! Don't lose hope!
Hang in there!

I just can't get myself to call you Porkypig. But do want to wish you fast healing, and true settings. Sometimes it takes awhile to get settings that work for us, so don't get worried to quickly that it isn't going to work. Take time to heal first, then work on the settings part. Good luck Jean
I have infection also

Can you tell me what antibiotic and dosage your doc put you on? Is it helping? I am on my 2nd 10 day Rx if Clindamycin hcl. Progress has been slow. Did you have blood cultures and CBC? What were the results? Mine were normal indicating the bacteria isn't in my blood. We have no idea what bug we're dealing with. I'm just looking for any info on treating this. Hope you are doing better. Thanks PP and take care.
