new replcement

I had a new replacement on May 31 of 2013. My original unit lasted 9 years. I found out that the device will actually reduce all functions except pacing when the batteries get really low and it will signal the need for replacement. My new device came with in home monitoring unit called Merlin. It sends a signal direct to the doctors office at 2:00 am each day via land line, I no longer have to go to the office or do a long distance phone check. What are others experience with this?

I got a merlin in April. Not sure when it does its thing at night. So far so good I guess. Pretty bright "ready light". I put something over the light to tone it down, being careful not to block the screener.
