We are planning a trip. What elevation might be dangerous for someone with a pacemaker?

I had a pacemaker living at 8000ft for many years and now live in Denver which is 5280ft. I've never had a problem. You might suffer the normal altitude sickness that others sometimes experience but I wouldn't expect any problems from your pacer.

The same as for someone...,...

......w/o a PM. The step over the rim of the bath tub in your own house is the most dangerous elevation for any PM Host.

The PM is hermetically sealed in a titanium can. Short of being exposed to a near vacuum, it is perfectly safe - safer than your body at extremely low pressures. Your blood would boil from the low pressures before the can would rupture.

So, relax. You may go anywhere on the face of Mother Earth w/o fear of having problems w/ your PM.
