Is it me?

Is it me, or is it normal...

Every time I take my shirt off after a day of wearing it, I hear (and sometime see) the snapping from static electricity in my shirt. I have tried everything, Bounce sheets, fabric softeners, etc. No one else in my family experiences it except me.

Is it the pacemaker? Although it was implanted in 2006, I started noticing this a few years ago.

Anyone else experience this?

Static

I can't say that I've had this experience but prior to my pacemaker placement I had a lot of trouble with grocery cart handles regardless of the weather outside, wiping it off with something wet, pushing it with my elbows forearms or hands. I got to the point where I dreaded going food shopping. It didn't matter which store I went to I would be shocked multiple times each trip. Fabric covered furniture at home and elsewhere became a problem too. I was always shocking my pets and family as well. Since my pacemaker placement the problem has ceased. It would probably be a good idea to have your experience addressed and researched. Keep us posted and good luck.

Change your shirt ?

Hi David. Do all of your shirts cause static or just certain ones ? Some synthetic materials such as nylon and polyesters are far more likely to cause static than natural fibres such as cotton . Why not have a shopping spree and buy a new shirt ?

Another requirement for static to be created is dry air. ...start sweating profusely , or buy a humidifier , or cover your skin in moisturiser and that would be the end of static.

I cannot think how a PM implanted under the skin could contribute to static electricity in any way

My shoes and socks cause me to do it sometimes. Try different socks...

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
