I had my PM implanted in Feb. I have entered Senior Olympic competition. I'm 72 years old. My PM is on my right side and I'm right handed. I shot basketball, threw a frisbee, pitched horseshoes, botcheball, corn hole, crochet, walked a 5k in 34 minutes. I have shoveled planted bushes. I feel fine but my chest, shoulder area still feels stiff. Does that seem normal?

You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.

When you were healing the first few weeks, did you move your arm normally aside from the restriction about keeping it lower than shoulder level. Some people get too cautious and don't use the arm enough while healing and the shoulder stiffens up. Start moving it gently and see if it loosens up, though it sounds like you've already been doing that. Have you tried a heating pad? If it doesn't get better on its own, physical therapy can help.
