Tiredness

I was wondering if anyone has had the same feeling as I have been getting. I have had my PM for a year and a half and something new has come up. I will be doing my normal daily routine and all of a sudden I'll feel like someone has just given me a shot to make me so tired where I have to lay down and close my eyes. I haven't went all the way out but I was having a hard time driving. I will be sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I can put my head in my hand and fall asleep. Also has any one heard a a censor going bad in the Pm and what happens if it does? Thanks

Exhaustion

Hi Leisa.

I too feel the exact same way. I've had my pacemaker since April of 2005 and have NEVER felt this tired.

I have had every blood test known to man and it all came back fine other than my bilirubin which is indicating something MIGHT be wrong with my gall bladder.

AND I have double checked with the doctor and my pharmacist the medications that I am taking....so, I am still searching for an answer.

I constantly tell ALL my doctors, including the pacer techs, just how tired I am and it seems to just sail right over their heads.

But, I am stubborn and will keep searching for an answer.

It washes over me

I will be doing something and all of a sudden the tiredness will wash over me like all the energy is draining out of me from the top of my head to my toes and I just have to lie down. I take it that it is my brain telling my body I need to lay down for an hour, which I do and then I am ok. I am seeing the sp on Tuesday so I am going to mention it to him.

Some comfort: a couple of my friends that have pm's say they experience the same tiredness or that they do get tired. Let me know if you find an answer I need one too!!!

Not to alarm anyone but if you are feeling that tired all of a sudden, ask to have a echo done on the heart. I had my pacemaker for 4 years when this happened to me. The test results showed that I had a EF in the 20's, cardiomyopathy and was in heart failure. Best to have it checked out. I now have a Biventricular ICD. Another life saver. Good Luck.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
