annual gathering

How do you guys feel about a club get together? There is a perfect place close to here for a function. Check it out= Ammicalola Falls State Park in North Georgia. Just an idea. I think it would be cool to do as a group, and have an EP doctor and cardiologist come and sleek. The scenery here is amazing! Would be a good trip for those who could come...

A bunch of us met in Tampa a few years ago for a Heartbeat International fundraiser, was a blast! We had the cardiologist who founded Heartbeat talk to us, a rep from St Judes and a lady who has written the user manuals for multiple manufacturers.

We talked about meeting in Canada this past fall but there was minimal interest and nothing came of it.

I think it would fun to try and get everyone together, no matter where it was held. It's probably impossible to make it work for everyone, but maybe we can try.

It's sad in some ways, because with the Internet, we all seem so close, yet we're really so far away when it comes to where we are on the map. This does make it difficult to come up with somewhere that would work for everyone, but maybe we could all come up with something.

It would be really great if we could come up with something that everyone could consider attending, whether it be one big get together, or numerous ones around the world.

A gal that works in my cardio doc's office (a nurse that used to be a PM tech, but now runs the Echo lab), mentioned in the past, when she was doing it many years ago, they went on a few cruises over the years, so others from around the world could hook up and go too.

She said the cruises were actually put on by the PM/ICD companies and provided medical assistance, PM techs from all of the companies, nurses, and cardio/EP docs so everyone would be comfortable knowing they would be taken care of if a problem came up. Did any of you go on any of those in the past? I know it had to have been MANY years ago, because she's been in the echo lab for at least 15-20 years now.

Unfortunately, it would be expensive to do, but might it easier for others all over the world to attend. I wonder if any of the PM/ICD companies would consider doing this again?

Just a thought, but again, still wouldn't work for everyone. Hopefully, someone else out there has some more ideas that would work for most, if not everyone!
