Hot tubs?

Is it ok if I use a hot tub? I've never been in one before. Going to a hotel in a few weeks where there will be one in my room. I have a dual chamber Medtronic PM

i have the same pacemaker. i have used hot tubs in hotels since implantation with no problem. like silversmith says your body temp may rise a little and with that your heartrate. no sweat so to speak. enjoy! jessie

My EP said i could use the hot tub and even go on roller coasters if I wanted. You just have to watch where the restraints hit when riding coasters. I have done it and its great. These pacers are wonderful inventions. For me it was the difference of being vertical instead of horizontal. I enjoy vertical much more. Bowlrbob

So long as you keep your head above the water you should do fine.

One other thing. Depending on the temp. of the water and the length of time you are in it, your body temp may rise a little. If it does your heart rate will go up some as circulating more blood throughout the body is natures way of keeping us from overheating. Should this happpen, it is normal and not your PM shortng out.
