Hello everyone,
I was wondering if I can take epsom salt bath with having a pacemaker? And also, if anyone has any experiences with using L-arginine and/or Taurine to eliminate PVC/PAC, Afib, or all types of tachycardia. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you and wish you all well.

Mineral Deficencies
by Roys - 2013-04-23 08:04:07
An imbalance or deficiency of magnesium, potassium, and calcium can force the heart into arrhythmias. Called electrolytes, your body's nerves and muscles depend upon these minerals.
I take these each day for my A-Fib, and am now free of AF.

Taurine

Hi there! So weird when I read your post - I was just looking up info the other day on
taurine!!
Magnesium taurate or L-arginine has an interraction with anti-coagulants. I'm not sure which one - my notes are not the best. But I would do some research on these before taking. I too have been looking to find a non-prescription way to lessen my PAC's! Right now I am on a low dose of Flecainide and it does not seem to be helping and don't really want to go to a higher dose. Just got off of a low dose beta blocker so I may talk with my Dr. and see if I can go off Flecainide and start from scratch. I'm not an expert on this but I would think you would want to make sure there are no meds left in your system before trying a natural approach. There could be an interraction.
I also read that you can reduce PAC's (now don't laugh - this was serious) by strong humming for one hour on 4 consecutive days. Don't know if that works - it sounds a little strange, but who knows. Would be nice if it was that simple!
Also Omega 3 Fatty Acid is supposed to help. You would have to research for safe dosage.
Let me know if you do try one of these and it helps.

Hasn't hurt me
by Many Blessings - 2013-04-23 11:04:04
Hi,
I use them all of the time. Sometimes, I use them with essential oils, sometimes, just the epsom salts alone. It hasn't hurt my PM function at all, and it's a great way to relax & detoxify your body.
Unfortunately, as many years as I have been doing this on a regular basis, it has never improved my A-fib or any other arrhythmia or heart problems. But, it's always worth a try, just in case it works for you.
Over the years, I have tried every known traditional Rx medicine, procedures, alternative and homeopathic remedies, Eastern medicine, Qigong, massage, and anything else I could think of short of actual accupuncture to try and fix my heart problems. If I read or heard it might work, I did it. I'm actually too embarrassed to say some of the other things I did and tried. Again, unfortunately, I was never able to cure myself, hence the CRT-P with AV node ablation.
Give everything you can think of a shot, just in case it may work for you. If you're at the beginning stages of your heart issue(s), or still going in and out of your arrhytmia(s), it just may at least improve things. You just never know! Just make sure to let your doctors know what you're doing so they are aware of any interactions with your current meds or treatment.
Good luck, and best wishes!

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
epsom salt

Yes, epsom salts are fine.
I haven't heard of those for getting rid of tachy. I found some other natural remedies, mostly magnesium and vitamin B, but I didn't notice a difference. I ended up on a low dose beta blocker.
