Teslar Technology in Watches

Does anyone know anything about watches with Teslar technolgy and whether or not they interfere with pacemakers? I bought a Philip Stein watch but did not realize that there may be some interference with my PM. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dahlia

SHEER UNADULTERATED PIFFLE

This is fantasy technology unlike pacemakers that actually work. Even if there was any benefit from wearing a teslar watch it will not interfere with your pacemaker as its power consumption is so low that the pacemakers shielding is more than enough to protect you. I really cant understand anyone who could fall for this suedo science bunkum. Best save your money.

Didn't know about the teslar when I bought it

I bought the watch because I loved how it looked. I didn't know anything about the Teslar until I got home. I just want to know if it is safe. My EP told me not to wear devices that operate on radio frequency, such as a chest strap heart monitor for exercise and I don't quite understand what type of frequency, if any, this watch may produce.

This may help answer your question about the frequency your watch produces.

"The TESLAR Chip with Teslar Technology was designed to emit a unique 7 to 9 Hz Alpha wave signal that interacts with and strengthens your body’s own electromagnetic energy field. Similar to the Earth’s natural 7.8 Hz Schumann Resonance signal and the Alpha wave signals emitted by the brain when you are calm, meditating, or doing yoga, or when athletes are in states of high performance, this TESLAR Scalar signal also helps reinforce your energy field against the possible negative effects of external, low-energy electromagnetic fields (EMF)."

My opinion is regardless of whether it does or does not protect the body from EMF, I do not think the strength of the EMF field it generates will be strong enough to harm the operation of your pacemaker.

Even if it did you would notice it as an irregular heart beat and if that happens take off the watch. Your heart rate will return to normal in a few seconds and I don't think your life will have been in danger.

Hope you enjoy the watch.

Can't help. Can't hurt

From everything that I have ever heard about "Teslar technology" it is nothing more than a piece of silver or copper foil near the watch battery. I could be wrong, but it sounds no more like a fantastic medical discovery than the copper bracelets that hucksters have been selling for years to cure arthritis etc. Since this revolutionary "technology" can do no good (except to Mr. Stein's bank account), it is also probably harmless.

If I wanted to I would wear one of these watches with no concern about it having an adverse effect on my pacemaker. See the following.

FROM: Wired News: A Watch Powered by Snake Oil
The Philip Stein Teslar watch contains a chip that works with the battery and coil to create a frequency that neutralizes the electromagnetic fields emanating from devices like cell phones, computers and radios, according to the company.

Research links electromagnetic fields with several health problems like headache, fatigue and memory loss, the company said. Those who wear the quartz watch allegedly sleep better, experience less stress and have improved concentration and more energy, it claims.

“It shields the body from these electromagnetic fields, and then the body can be more effective in taking care of itself and its immune system with those unwanted fields thrown off,” explained Ilonka Harezi, head of research for Teslar Inside, which manufactures the watch. “With us sticking cell phones to our heads, we need that protection,” Harezi said.

But others say the company’s claims are a bunch of bunk.

“There is not a chance in the world that (these types of devices) will do anything but lighten your wallet,” said John Moulder, a professor of radiation oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dahlia,

To answer your original question, no, your watch should not interfere with your device at all.
