Starting back on the bike

Had my PM fitted 22 Jan for Bradycardia ( long history of low pulse, competetion cyclist for 40 years, now 61 yrs young) all good so far. Plan to start on my stationary trainer at day 7 post operation and not get on road bike till post my cardio followup visit on 12 Feb.

Does this sound sensible to other PM cyclists out there? hate not riding butwant to be very careful.....

Why not get on the stationary bike and just start easy now. No need to wait. It would be a good time to just get back into the feel of it.

As I keep saying here on the site, I was out walking briskly and driving my Jeep in the desert within a couple days of the implant.

At my age (83) I can remember a bunch of medical instructions. A relative had an appendectomy back in the 1940's and he was held in the hospital and not even allowed out of bed for over a week. This was true for most major surgeries. Then they discovered we did better if we got up sooner.

My cardiologist is brilliant and after lots of trial and error got me running. I finished this years London Marathon in 3hrs 38 minutes.
