Hi all. Does anyone know if static shocks can affect a pacemaker?

That was one of my concerns, when I had this "science project" put in, but I can assure you that you have nothing to worry about.

Static electricity exists on the outer surface of your body - always. Nowhere near your heart or PM.

When you touch another conductor, it flows along the outside of your body to the ground point. Never gets to the PM.

That's why people can stand in a static field w/ sparks shooting off the ends of their hair standing on end. All the charge is on the outside.

Thanks, I got a real crack off the car door yesterday and it made me wonder if static would affect p.m.
Bike is great, changed for a slightly lighter model. But having my pm re positioned July 12th so will have to go through the weeks of recovery again. However, no meds adjustment this time so should be better all round.
